Steel University
Steeluniversity.org is a free to use, award-winning, on-line initiative developed by the World Steel Association. It aims to provide a comprehensive package of highly interactive, informative, innovative, integrated and sophisticated e-learning resources on steel technologies, covering all aspects of iron and steelmaking processes. Steeluniversity.org provides an opportunity to study and apply the basic scientific, metallurgical and engineering principles.
The website is intended for use by undergraduate and graduate students and their teachers, lecturers and professors and also employees and their trainers from companies within the steel industry supply chain. Some simulations may also be suitable for high school pupils.
These resources are intended to supplement traditional learning. They will provide professors and lecturers in universities with practical examples from the steel industry to illustrate and demonstrate essential basic principles and theoretical concepts, which are a vital part of developing the knowledge and understanding of their students.
Steeluniversity.org can be used for self-motivated or directed study. The simulations can be used in competition mode, between individuals or teams. For maximum effectiveness the e-learning modules at steeluniversity.org should ideally be blended (alloyed) into the appropriate curriculum or training programme.
